Programmable Gain Amplifier PGA64 Operating Manual

Programmable Gain Amplifier PGA64 Operating Manual

The Multi Channel Systems device PGA64 amplifies analog signals with the option to change the gain. The input signal amplitude can be increased from a factor of 10 up to 5000. The gain is selectable by software and can be set for each of the 64 signal channels individually. The main parts consist of the analog filter stages, of a logic part to set the amplification, of an EEPROM to save the potentiometer settings, of a level converter accepting RS232 signals and of a power stage.

The signals of the 32 input channels are splitted to two different frequency bands. These bands filter the signals according to their frequency parts. The outputs are observable on the output connector. Examples of output signals are given. Two figures in the appendix demonstrate the dependance of the output signal amplitude from the frequency for the two used frequency bands.

Input signals are connected using a 68-pin SCSI connector. Output signals are transfered to other devices using a 68-pin SCSI connector, too. The pin layout of both connectors is given in a table. The digital signals to change the gain are delivered using a 9-pin SUB-D connector via the serial interface of a PC.

An internal power supply stage transforms the input voltages of any external power supply bin into the supply voltages of ±3.0 V and ±5.0 V. The supply bin should deliver raw voltages of ± 6.5 V at least, for connecting use 2 mm-connectors. The PGA64 uses a 3-pin LEMOSA connector as power supply input connector. The cable will be also delivered, too.

AC1 Access Control Equipment Installation Manual

AC1 Access Control Equipment Installation Manual

This manual is intended as a help to the physical equipment installation of a Miantek AC1 Access Control System. It contains everything needed to complete an installation, except for the final software commissioning which can be found in the AC1 software help file accessible from within the software through the Help menu item or by selecting START|PROGRAMS|AC1|AC1 HELP from the Windows Taskbar after having installed the software.

The system consists of a PC with Software and a Moxa RS485 bus driver card, one or more C484 controllers, proximity card readers, inputs (ex. door monitors) and outputs (ex. door locks), an example of which is shown in Fig. 1 (Inputs/Outputs not shown).

All communications uses 2-Wire RS485 protocol (between PC and C484’s as well as between C484’s and card readers). It is thus important to use only twisted pair for the communications cables (Ex.CAT5). It is further recommended to use screened cable as far as possible, especially if the runs are very long or if you run the cables near power cables, which you should try to avoid. In theory the communication cables can be up to 1.2km in distance if the proper cable is used. Note that only two wires (1 pair) are needed for the communication and that the wires used MUST form part of the same twisted pair.

The Moxa bus driver card, which should be installed in the PC, may contain two, four or eight communications ports, depending on the size of the overall system. Each port can control up to 32 C484’s, while each C484 can control up to 4 Nortech proximity readers. Only a two-port bus driver card is thus needed for systems of up to 256 card readers (2 ports x 32 C484’s x 4 readers). You may choose to have more communication lines to the controllers in any case and thus rather use a 4 or 8 port card if the installation requires it.

TS-NVRAM2 Manual

TS-NVRAM2 Manual

The TS-NVRAM2 is a PC/104 expansion card that adds up to 2 MB of nonvolatile high-speed battery-backed RAM. It can be arranged as 8 bit or 16 bit wide memory and can be configured as paged memory or linear memory. The TS-NVRAM2 eliminates any wear-out failure and write cycle latency inherent in all Flash devices This product uses a multi-layer PCB with power and ground planes to minimize noise and EMI issues. The TS-NVRAM2 only requires a single 5V power supply.

Getting Started X86 Architecture
Install only jumpers 3 and 4 on the TS-NVRAM2, this will put the board in 8-bit mode and set the base address for all registers in the I/O space at 0×140. After a system reset, only the eight I/O registers will appear on the PC/104 bus (no memory range will be decoded) — this will avoid any conflicts with any other devices. Next write out 0×46 to I/O location 0×145 (Mode Register). This will configure the TS-NVRAM2 to use paged memory and will make it appear in memory space at 0xD0000 to 0xD7FFF (a 32 KB window). This memory range is suggested, since this range is typically free in most x86 platforms, but any 32KB range from 0xA0000 thru 0xDFFFF can be selected (see Mode register details). Now the NVRAM memory can be accessed at the memory addresses 0xD0000 to 0xD7FFF. Any one of the 64 pages can be selected by writing to the page register at I/O location 0×144. Since each page is 32 KB and there are 64 pages this allows access to all 2MB of NVRAM. Up to four TS-NVRAM boards can be installed to get up to 8MB of non-volatile memory.

H-ITT RX4000 instruction manual

H-ITT RX4000 instruction manual

The RX4000 communicates with all H-ITT RF clickers. There is no limit to the number of RF clickers that can be used with the RX4000. The RX4000 has 31 RF channels that can be selected and are provided so that a classroom may have a unique RF channel to avoid interference between another device in or about the classroom. The RX4000 is initially set to channel 07 to operate with H-ITT RF clickers that are also initially set to channel 07. The RX4000 has selectable baud rates for communication to your PC. The default setting is 19.2K baud. Higher Baud rates are available, but typically not needed. If higher baud rates are selected, the length of the USB cable should not exceed 15 feet. There can be more than one RX4000 installed in a very large classroom or auditorium to provide reliable communication with H-ITT’s remote clickers.

INITIAL SET-UP:
The RX4000 provides both USB and Serial communications ports. Connect either of these ports to your classroom PC (do not connect both). The USB connection provides power to the unit, so this is the only connection needed. You will need to install a driver for the USB port in your PC to communicate with H-ITT software (see below for connecting to a computer). However, the RX4000 will power up as indicated below with or without the drivers installed.

Attach the antenna to the SMA connector.
Power up the RX4000 by connecting the USB cable to a PC (that is powered up) or connect the external power supply to the DC power jack. The YELLOW indicator light will turn on and both the GREEN PC com and RED RF com indicators will blink 4 times each. If the RF com indicator blinks more than 4 times, and at a rapid rate, this can indicate that the RF channel selected may have another fixed frequency transmitter operating on the same channel within the range of the base. If this occurs, it is recommended that a different channel be selected using the internal set-up switch described below.

A battery backup system ensures the MADASS will continue to record even if vehicle power is not available after the incident has occurred.

The complete system consists of:
- The MADASS main recording system which records the 3 signals from the LG-Alert, as well as pertinent vehicle operating data including engine RPM, throttle position, steering wheel position, brake system pressure, brake position and vehicle position (longitude, latitude), course and speed from a GPS receiver.
- The LG-Alert unit, which provides lateral, axial, and vertical acceleration signals to the MADASS system.
- A remote display unit which displays current operating status, system diagnostic information, and the number of stored incidents. It also provides a communication port for a PC to download incident data for analysis.
- GPS antenna
- Steering wheel position sensor
- Brake air pressure sensor

The system records data continuously while the vehicle master power is turned on. Once an incident occurs all data is stored in non-volatile memory. A total of 5 incident records are stored in the MADASS unit for retrieval and analysis. If the total number of stored incidents exceeds five the next incident overwrites the data of the previous incident in the order of 1 to 5.

M-Audio AudioBuddy Users Manual

M-Audio AudioBuddy Users Manual

Thank you for your purchase of the M-Audio AudioBuddy™, mic preamp and direct box. M-Audio has designed and manufactured several different audio mixers including MiniMixer, MicroMixer 18, MultiMixer 6, MultiMixer 10 and miXim 10. All of these mixers have two things in common: 1.) they are exceedingly quiet — quieter than 99% of all mixers on the market and 2.) they are uniquely configured to meet the specific needs of the MIDI and multimedia musician.

The Audio Buddy, once again, fits these two criteria. First, it is a very quiet mic preamp. This is because the unit’s simple and efficient design and ultra compact layout eliminates much of the noise. The unit also has a higher than usual voltage “rail” across its internal op-amps. This means that you get more “punch” and much more dynamic audio output. Secondly, the Audio Buddy (when coupled with its ultra quiet performance) is the perfect audio “gateway” for recording the two most significant, non-line level instruments in the studio: microphones and electric guitars.

The Audio Buddy has two completely independent preamplifier sections. Each of these sections has: 1.) a balanced XLR input on the back of the unit, 2.) a high impedance 1/4” unbalanced input (TS) on the front of the unit, 3.) signal (present) and clipping LEDs, 4.) a gain control and 5.) a 1/4” dual purpose output on the back of the unit that provides either an unbalanced out (when a mono plug is used) or a balanced out (when a stereo plug is used).
IMPORTANT:
Whenever one of the front panel high impedance inputs is used, the associated back panel XLR is disabled.

The Audio Buddy also has built in phantom power which can be switched on or off for both channels. When the rear panel phantom power switch is in, phantom power to both channels is turned on and the front Phan(tom) power LED will light.

IMPORTANT:
Since the phantom power switch turns phantom power on or off for both channels, there is no way to turn phantom power on for one channel and off for the other channel. If you are using the high impedance inputs the phantom power switch has no effect.

Component Video (RGBHV) Distribution Amplifier 1×2 With Composite Sync. Generator

Component Video (RGBHV) Distribution Amplifier 1×2 With Composite Sync. Generator

The Model 210-LP buffers and splits component (RGBHV) video signals for display on two monitors. The unit can
drive special cables up to 150 feet or longer depending on the resolution used and cable quality.
The input video signal can be RGBHV (five connections, separate syncs), or RGBS (four connections, composite
sync), or RGB (three connections, with sync-on-green).
Regardless of the type of the input type, both outputs produce the same signal components on their respective connectors. The device has the added feature of being able to generate composite-sync or sync-on-green outputs from an RGBHV signal such as VGA.

The Model 210-LP can be powered from a supplied power adapter, or from customer supplied +5V DC. This feature is useful for displaying a VGA signal on monitors having 3 or 4 BNC inputs instead of 5. It is also useful for cases where a video switch (such as a Matrix) is to follow the device. Instead of a switching 5 components, only 3 or 4 components need be switched (thereby, lowering the cost of the switch).

When the input is RGBHV (five connections), you can have the unit pass all the data through without modification (”SEP”), combine horizontal and vertical syncs into a (”COMP”), or provide a output (”GRN”). The Model 210-LP automatically generates a composite sync signal with negative going pulses regardless of the polarities of H and V input signals.

Features
• Rugged, Reliable, Economical
• 300 MHz Bandwidth
• Powered from AC source or 5 VDC
• Each output can independently generate composite sync
• LED power indicator
• BNC connectors on input and outputs
• Mounting holes for attachment in user equipment
