A 4.24G channel becomes the ‘active channel’ when a Sys-Ex Data Inquiry message is received via MIDI or RS-232, (Refer to 4.24G_GS_Protocol.doc). It remains as the active channel until an inquiry for another channel is received, or the power is cycled. Note: a 4.24G contains four discreet channels. The active channel will transmit update messages to a MIDI or RS-232 control device, whenever a user modifies the active channel’s parameters via the 4.24G’s front panel. There are ten different update messages, as follows:

1. Preset Recall
2. Mute status change
3. Function in/out status change

Protea System Software 1.2 AUDIO FEATURES The Protea audio components consist of state of the art technologies, beginning with a 24 bit, 48kHz delta-sigma A/D converter with 128x oversampling. Digital processing includes EQ, Compression, Limiting, Shelving, Highpass and Lowpass Filters, and Time Delay, taking place in a 100MHz Motorola DSP56303 high performance DSP processor. D/A conversion uses a 24 bit delta-sigma converter with 128x oversampling. Inputs are precision balanced
and RF protected, while outputs may be wired balanced or unbalanced. All audio connections use XLR and 1/4″ phone jacks for greater flexibility. Up to sixteen different audio channels can be linked together for expanded system control using the main 4.24G and slave units 4.24GS, 2.24GS, 4.24PS, and 2.24PS.

USER INTERFACE A key advantage to the Protea system is that all audio functions are intuitively laid out so that a minimum number of keystrokes can quickly change a setting on any channel in real time. With this in mind, two entirely different methods to control the signal processing functions in Protea products have been developed, one using an innovative keyboard interface which is similar to an analog EQ face, while the other uses custom Windows95/98™ software for the PC. Keyboard Interface: The keyboard interface on either the main (4.24G) or remote control (4.24RD) displays information on a 240 x 64 pixel flourescent backlit LCD screen. The combination of the analog-style keyboard and LCD makes navigating around the Protea amazingly simple. The 4.24RD remote control is essentially the “front end” of the 4.24G, allowing remote processor control from within reach of the equipment rack, or from a control room over 1000 feet away. Note: The 4.24RD remote controls the main and graphic EQ slaves, but not the two parametric slaves, 4.24PS and 2.24PS. Parametric slaves require PC control using Protea System Software. Protea System Software: The second type of interface uses Ashly PROTEA SYSTEM SOFTWARE for the Windows95/98 environment, which allows complete PC control through a computer’s RS-232 serial port. Protea System Software controls the main 4.24G, and both graphic and parametric Protea slaves. Protea system software is supplied with slave units, or can be downloaded at no cost from the Ashly web site. At this time, there is no Mac version of Protea System Software available.

Operation A laptop computer contains an integrated keyboard whereas a desktop computer uses an external keyboard. When using a desktop computer with a scanner that is designed to emulate keyboard input, the scanner is wedged into the cable that connects the external keyboard to the computer (hence, the term wedge scanner). Since a laptop keyboard is internal, there is no cable accessible to use a standard wedge connection for a scanner. However, most laptops make provision for an external keyboard via a separate keyboard connector (or port).

Since the scanner connections to the laptop are different from the connections to a desktop computer, the scanner must be programmed specifically to operate as an external keyboard device. This is accomplished by using the programming codes on page 9.

Sony Ericsson S500i Review PDF

Sony Ericsson S500i Review PDF

Sony Ericsson refreshes its mobile phone’s lineup every 2 or 3 months launching new devices on different markets and for different targets. This time, the S500i handset seems to be intended for fashionistas and is available in 2 colors: “Mysterious Green” and “Spring Yellow”. There’s no telling if one is for men and another for women because the phone looks good in both colors and can be bought by either of the sexes. The slider seems to be a nice surprise from Sony Ericsson, at least in terms of design. From time to time, we’re “blessed” to be able to buy a Sony Ericsson handset that looks stylish and elegant, different from the usual design that made Sony Ericsson so well-known.

This is a little bit different from any of the Walkman series mobiles, so you should not expect too much from its multimedia features. Announced at the beginning of May 2007, both color versions of the slider have been made available on the market at the end of June for about USD 300-350$.

Queen’s Wifi Pilot User Guide Manual

Queen’s Wifi Pilot User Guide Manual

Full Manual Introduction An encrypted wireless network service has been implemented to offer users with their own laptops access to the University’s computer network. The service uses your QUB username and password for authentication. In order to protect your details, and the University network, the service will require you to install wireless client software on your machine. Queen’s has purchased a set number of licences so we need to record your email and staff/student number. You can still use your laptop on other networks, but you will need to disable the client software first.

Once connected, you can browse the World Wide Web, and hence access your on-campus file store, and send and receive email. Use of the service is governed by the policies as set out at:
http://www.qub.ac.uk/is/StaffComputing/ITServices/SecurityandAnti-Virus/SecurityPolicies/ This is a pilot service so users may suffer some teething problems. There may be short interruptions when new configurations are installed and when temporary equipment is being upgraded. See the webpage http://www.qub.ac.uk/is/StaffComputing/MobileComputing WirelessatQueens for information regarding any developments which may affect users. This wireless facility is in addition to the previous wireless service (through a remote server) and the laptop lending service. These are both still available in the Main and Science Libraries.

Sony DSC-S40 Model TS-DSC-S40-01 TrackSnap Manual PDF

Sony DSC-S40 Model TS-DSC-S40-01 TrackSnap Manual PDF

This manual provides detailed information for the setup and use of your system. Please read this manual before using your TrackSnap camera. The information provided will give you good service from your system. At the heart of any motion sensing camera is a controller board. All TrackSnap cameras use a PixController PIR (Pryoelectric Infra-Red) motion detection sensor. The PixController motion sensor electronics is a unique design. With this design you will get the minimum number of false triggers (blank photos), and the PIR electronics will shut down when the board battery gets low also minimising false photos.

It can detect the target in any vector of travel (say up and down target movement), which is very important if you plan to mount your sensor in an elevated position. Knowing your system is working in the field all the time is what you expect from our high quality products!
