Jupiter Global Positioning System (GPS) Receiver pdf

Rockwell’s “Jupiter” GPS receiver is a single-board, 12 parallel-channel receiver engine intended as a component for an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) product. The receiver (shown in Figures 1 and 2) continuously tracks all satellites in view, thus providing accurate satellite positioning data. It is designed for high performance and maximum flexibility in a wide range of OEM configurations including handhelds, panel mounts, sensors, and in-vehicle automotive products.

The highly integrated digital receiver uses the Zodiac chip set composed of two custom Rockwell devices: the “Gemini/Pisces” MonoPac. and the “Scorpio” Digital Signal Processor (DSP). These two custom chips, together with suitable memory devices and a minimum of external components, form a complete low-power, highperformance GPS receiver solution for OEMs.

Pairing Instructions:
1. Please set the vehicle in pairing mode. For details please see the vehicle user’s manual.
2. On the Home screen touch Settings General Bluetooth
Your phone will display a list of any Bluetooth device(s) that it discovers in range and available to be paired. Select the name of the Bluetooth enabled device (e.g. BMW34001) with which you are pairing. Please note that the Bluetooth enabled device name may first appear as “Handsfree”.8/3/2007
3. Type in a 4-16 digit passkey on the iPhone first (on some BMW models like X3, Z4 and 7 series the passkey that is required for this step is fixed. See the car manual for the passkey. On all other cars the 4-16 digit passkey can be selected by the user) Touch “Connect”
4. Then the Confirm Passkey dialog appears in the display of the car: Repeat the passkey that was used on the device to authenticate the iPhone and press Confirm passkey.

If pairing procedure failed (i.e. passkey mismatch between iPhone and car kit), go to Settings General Bluetooth on iPhone and turn OFF Bluetooth and ON again. Redo the pairing procedure….

Since Apple steadfastly refuses to license the FairPlay technology to other digital music services, the only way to sell copyright-protected music that also works on the world’s most popular digital music player is to hack the system.

The latest effort to do so is headed by Cupertino, Califbased Navio Systems. Navio enables online music retailers to sell digital rights as a package, instead of selling actual digital files, allowing consumers to take their music to various platforms-mobile or portable players, etc. According to COO Ray Schaaf, his customers have requested the ability to sell copy-protected music that can also work on the iPod, so Navio is reverse-engineering FairPlay to do so. Clients include Fox Music, TVT Records and Sony BMG.
