Development System MICRF505-MICRF620 User Manual

Development System MICRF505-MICRF620 User Manual

The development system provides hands-on experience with the MICRFXXX transceiver. The user can use the included firmware (the program used in the micro controller) and hardware, or make a new program and flash it into the micro controller. That is, the user can use the boards both to evaluate the MICRFXXX, and as an aid in the development of a radio communication system.

A separate PC program is available. Through this program, it is possible to set the programming word for the MICRFXXX (both the frequency dividers and the control bits can be set). This program is referred to as “RF TestBench”. Please observe: It is possible to read out the firmware version of the development boards via RF TestBench.

Main modes of operation of the development system:
• RF Test Modes. The user can test the RF properties of the transceiver. It is possible to transmit a 1010… pattern or a random pattern, transmit a carrier or to stay in receive mode, searching for a 1010… pattern. In addition, the user can select to bypass the MCU completely, and control the RF part via header pins.
• 2-way Link-Test Mode. In this mode of operation, one board is “Master” and another board is “Slave”. Messages (5 printable ascii characters) are transmitted back and forth between the two boards. This mode is useful when testing radio communication in different environments, testing antennas, testing encapsulation etc. 16-bit CRC is implemented. A LED (“LED1”) indicates link OK.
• Simple Byte Transfer Mode. In this mode, the user can enter a number of bytes into a development board. The board will then transmit the bytes. If no user-bytes are entered, the board will search for RF messages, and, if found, output the message to the user. 16-bit CRC is implemented (messages received through RF are only given to user if the CRC is OK). A 64-byte deep buffer is implemented for both RX and TX. Only 1 frequency is used.
• Advanced Byte Transfer Mode. In this mode of operation, one board is “Master” and another board is “Slave”. Operates like the “Simple Byte Transfer Mode”, except: When transmitting user data, the board will construct a frame by adding frame type, frame ID and sync info. Automatic frequency hopping is implemented. ARQ(Automatic Repeat reQuest), CRC and duplicate control are implemented as well. “Master” is responsible for maintaining the link (by transmitting “timestamps”). If “Slave” is reset or gets out of sync, it requests a “timestamp” from Master.

LSU4 UEGO Operators Manual

LSU4 UEGO Operators Manual

The M&W Uego system uses a Universal Exhaust Gas Oxygen sensor and this works completely differently from a normal oxygen sensor you would find in your car. It allows precise measurement over a wide AFR range. UEGO sensor systems are used by all original equipment manufacturers for ECU mapping and are also widely used in motorsports including F1.

The microprocessor controlled M&W Uego controller features a fully linerized real time 0 to 5 volt analog output giving 10 to 20/1 air fuel ratio.

This simple scaling allows easy input into data acquisition systems and engine management systems. 12V operation with a cigarette lighter plug allows easy fitment for vehicle testing.

The RS232 port allows connection to IBM compatible computers and laptops with DOS, Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP and PocketPC software available. The controller uses a true wide range Bosch LSU4 sensor which when used with the tail pipe probe adapter provides a very versatile tuning tool for engine mapping and diagnostic purposes.

The sensor uses a special pumping cell with gives a current output depending on the air fuel ratio. This is completely different to a “normal” oxygen sensor. The pumping cell design allows measurement of air fuel ratios over the whole range where as a “normal” oxygen sensor is only capable of measuring a small range either side of 14.7/1 air fuel ratio. Each wide range sensor is calibrated and supplied with a calibration chip which can be easily changed should a replacement sensor be required.

Note: the sensor contains a ceramic module and should not be subject to mechanical or thermal shock or it may be damaged

It satisfies a wide variety of applications, including car navigation, personal navigation of touring devices, tracking and marine navigation purpose. Users can simply plug it into a PDA or other type of handheld PC running with suitable mapping and routing software for navigation.

External Antenna
Basically, you don’t need external antenna to perform GPS positioning with BC-337; it already has a built-in antenna. The only condition that you need external antenna is when BC-337 unit can not “see” the sky, For instance, when you are in a car, or any environment that GPS signal is blocked, the external GPS antenna will help to receive better GPS signal.

Plug the external antenna with MMCX connector to the plug on BC-337. Place the magnetic external antenna on the roof of the car or the outdoor open-space, and make sure not to put it upside down. That is, the magnetic side is the bottom side, and the upper side must face to the sky in order to receive better signal.

RiverWatcher Program User Manual

RiverWatcher Program User Manual

The RiverWatcher is a counter for use in fish ladders, barrier dams or other places where fish swim through a restricted passage. Various versions are available, and the counter can be adapted to local conditions in each individual instance. The RiverWatcher consists of a Control Unit with software, a Scanner Unit with cables, solar-panel, batteries and a computer program for processing the data.

The Scanner Unit can be thought of as a gate that is placed in the fish ladder. It controls the emissions of infrared light beams from the light-emitting one side of the Scanner Unit and the signals from the receivers on the other side of the unit. When a fish swims through the Scanner Unit it interrupts the beams, the silhouette of the fish being used to count it and calculate its size. One cable runs between the Scanner plates, and there is one cable connecting the Scanner to the Control Unit. Data sent from the Scanner Unit to the Control Unit, which can then be transferred to a computer program, consist of: the height of the fish, the date and time it swam through the Scanner Unit, the temperature of the river, the results of a vision test which is carried out at regular intervals to check on the condition of the Scanner Unit’s light-emitting diodes and a silhouette image of every fish so the counting’s can be verified afterwards.

GEM-2 Manual

GEM-2 Manual

The GEM-2 consists of a sensor housing (the “ski”), the electronics console, and WinGEM software. The standard accessories include a battery charger, carrying straps, a download cable, a brief field guide, and this manual. The WinGEM software runs on Windows-based PCs. When the GEM-2 is attached to a PC, WinGEM can control its operation. WinGEM is used to initially configure the sensor and to specify the frequencies to be used for a particular survey. WinGEM plots the acquired data to verify proper operation.

A common use of the GEM-2 involves walking with the unit along a predefined survey grid. After a survey is completed, the WinGEM software is used to download the data from the GEM-2 and store it in a file on the PC for analysis. Given the positions of the ends of the grid lines, WinGEM assigns an x-y position to each data point using “dead reckoning” or interpolation and creates a separate file containing positioned survey data.

A more flexible survey technique involves connecting a GPS unit to the GEM-2 console during data acquisition. The time and positioning data from the GPS is stored along with the GEM-2’s EM data. WinGEM uses the GPS data to assign an x-y position to each EM data point during the “export” function. The text file containing positioned survey data can be read by most spreadsheets and analysis programs.

DFIS-BT Bluetooth-Data Transfer between FLARM / Volkslogger and PDA Instructions Manual

DFIS-BT Bluetooth-Data Transfer between FLARM / Volkslogger and PDA Instructions Manual

This module has been developed under practical considerations by glider pilots for glider pilots. The DFIS-BT is the first module that allows the integration of popular “standard components”, for example state-of- the-art PDAs, into the world of the conventional electronics in the gliding environment, without cable by using Bluetooth interface.

The DFIS-BT module comes with the following accessories:
• Manual
• Data cable to connect the DFIS-BT module with the FLARM / Volkslogger (approx. 30-cm length)

An additional accessory that is not included in the package but can be purchased is a combined cable connection of the DFIS-BT module with a PC / laptop and a power supply -by a 9 volt battery.

The DFIS-BT module transfers data between the FLARM / Volkslogger and the PDA, on which the cross-country flight program is running - using a radio connection instead of the traditionally used cable wiring. To this purpose, the Bluetooth Standard is used, which is commonly used in today’s mobile devices like PDAs and mobile phones.

The module is simply connected with the pre-manufactured cable to the FLARM/Volkslogger device. The power supply of the FLARM / Volkslogger powers the Bluetooth module as well. By turning on the FLARM / Volkslogger, the DFIS-BT module is therefore ready for use. All plugs in the DFIS-BT module and the FLARM / Volkslogger are compatible with each other. The connector pin assignment corresponds to the IGC standard which is also used by the FLARM / Volkslogger. To use the DFIS-BT functionality in the double seater, two modules can be concatenated (one after the other). In this configuration, each of the modules sends the FLARM / Volkslogger data to the PDA which is linked to the module via Bluetooth.

TCPIP232 ATM Interface Operation Manual

TCPIP232 ATM Interface Operation Manual

TCPIP232 ATM Interface is designed to capture ATM transactions on ATM LAN system then convert caputered transactions to serial port to interface with VSSI-Pro (ATM Serial Interface) or Digital Video Recorder (DVR) which supports text insertion and overlays trasaction information to video.

There are 2 kinds of connection for TCPIP232
1. Stand alone with Digital Video Recorder
This connection will inteface directly to DVR which supported Text Insertion. This insertion will interface via RS232C only from TCPIP232 rear panel. So Please consult your DVR manual or contact DVR manufacturer.
2. VSSI-pro Interface
VSSI-Pro has also supported text insertion and programmable gray scale and background of text inesertion. User are able to define the ATM IP Address via Onscreen programming on VSSI-Pro Menu.

TCPIP232 Hardware Configuration:
TCPIP232 hardware operation depends on your network connection. TCPIP232 is able to operate with HUB and Network Switcher. There are 2 hardware configurations:
1. Mirror Mode
This Mode supports HUB and Programmable Network Switchers. The user needs to provide a port for TCPIP232 to capture ATM transactions on the HUB and needs to mirror the ATM LAN port for TCPIP232 port to capture data. This kind of switcher we called “ programmable network switcher” which is very expensive.
2. Tapping Mode.
The Tapping mode supports HUB and Typical Network Switcher. Tappping Mode captures ATM transactions by tapping receiving data at the ATM only. So HUB and Switch will not see TCPIP232 as a network device.

CL4490-1000 Industrial 900MHz ConnexLink User’s Manual

CL4490-1000 Industrial 900MHz ConnexLink User’s Manual

The CL4490 uses Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum modulation, where the units “hop” from frequency to frequency many times per second using a specific hop pattern applied to all the transceivers in the same network. A distinct hopping pattern is provided for each Channel Number, thereby allowing multiple networks to co-exist in the same area without interference.

CL4490 transceivers operate in a Point-to-Point or Point-to-Multipoint, Client-Server or Peer-to-Peer architecture. One transceiver is configured as a Server and there can be one or many Clients. To establish synchronization between transceivers, the Server emits a beacon. Upon detecting a beacon, a Client transceiver informs its Host and a RF link is established.

CL4490s implement a proprietary communication protocol to provide secure data transmissions. As it uses FHSS technology, the data remains reliable over long distances. Use of license free frequency bands ensure that the units are ready to use with no further certification requirements. Each unit is small and easily portable for use in mobile and temporary settings as well as for fixed installations. The CL4490 configuration software enables custom configurations based on unique application requirements.

CopperLink Ethernet Extender Model 2155 User Manual

CopperLink Ethernet Extender Model 2155 User Manual

The Patton Electronics CopperLink Ethernet Extenders provide high-speed LAN connections between peered Ethernet LANs, remote PC’s, or any other network enabled 10Base-T device.

Operating in pairs, a Model 2155/L (local) located at one end of the LAN extension and a Model 2155/R (remote) at the other end, these units can automatically forward LAN broadcasts, multicasts, and frames across a 2-wire voice-grade twisted-pair link. The data is passed transparently (unmodified) through the Ethernet Extenders. They operate as learning bridges and automatically add and delete MAC addresses; only passing packets across the CopperLink line that are meant for the remote peered LAN.

The 2155/L and 2155/R work together to create a transparent extension between two peered Ethernet LANs. Figure 1 shows a typical point-to-point application.

Because the CopperLink Ethernet Extender requires no configuration, it can be installed quickly. Installation consists of the following:
• Connect the line interface between the units (refer to section 3.1, “Connecting the Twisted-Pair Line Interface” on page 7) Note See Figure 2 for the rear-panel connectors locations.
• Connect the Ethernet interface (refer to section 3.2, “Connecting 10Base-T Ethernet Port to PC (DTE)” on page 8 or section section 3.3, “Connecting 10Base-T Ethernet Port to Hub (DCE)” on page 8).
• Connect the power plug (refer to section 3.4, “Connecting Power” on page 9).

This document describes the installation and specification of the KXI-DVI-Bridge. Details of the integration with Kaleido are available in the Kaleido user documentation. Please see “Compatibility” on page 15 for a list of Kaleido models that can be used with the KXI-DVI-Bridge.

Miranda’s KXI-DVI-Bridge performs live extraction of computer graphics to generate an SMPTE 292M compliant link meant for the Kaleido multi-image processor. Each unit provides two independent DVI-to-HD-SDI conversion processes. A firmware upgrade now allows the KXI-DVI-Bridge to also perform conversions of DVI signals from a Kaleido to HD-SDI formats.

Originally designed as a Kaleido input device, the KXI-DVI-Bridge converts a DVI signal to HD-SDI at a specific resolution and frame rate (1920×1080p @ 29.97 Hz)
1. This allows a Kaleido to accept inputs from a PC at larger VGA resolutions, up to 1600×1200
2. over a standard HD-SDI signal, without sacrificing quality.
The input resolution from the PC can be XGA, SXGA, WXGA, WSXGA+ or UXGA, but must have a 60 Hz refresh rate.

Basic KXI-DVI-Bridge Features:
• Dual Channel – pixel-to-pixel extraction on each discrete channel
• Two HD-SDI outputs per channel
• Auto-sensing DVI input
• One DVI loop output per channel
• Auto-sensing of input format within the Kaleido’s HD-SDI input
• Platform/OS independent
• Extend reach of DVI signal by using SDI wiring
• Ideal for static content such as the view of an automation system’s run-down list

Rapid28iXL PIC Prototyping PCB User Manual

Rapid28iXL PIC Prototyping PCB User Manual

This is a PCB designed to facilitate the rapid prototyping of a device based on a 28 pin Microchip PIC microcontroller. To allow users to focus on their application, we take care of key housekeeping tasks associated with a microcontroller-based device. To this end, our PCB features several power supply options, an 28 pin footprint for the microcontroller, and several oscillator options. This board also supports in-circuit programming with a dedicated ICSP header. Users can construct their application circuit in our generous a generous prototyping area with space available for several IC’s and/or numerous discrete components.

Like our Rapid28i prototyping board, the Rapid28iXL board has common I/O components; it has the same 3 push buttons, 3 LEDs, and a buzzer. It also has a RS232 interface that can be jumper configured for DCE configuration for attachment to a PC, or as DTE for attachment to another prototyping board (no null modem cables required). See last page of this document for detailed serial interface information.

This board is constructed as a 2-layer through-hole board with clearly marked components on its silkscreen layer, and ample space between components so population of the board can be done by anyone with basic soldering skills.
