The purpose of this report is to examine the credibility of TigerDirect.com, an online
electronics store. Using the Stanford guidelines for web credibility, TigerDirect.com was
evaluated on a “guideline by guideline” basis to determine its credibility level. All of the
notes, critics, suggestions and recommendations in this report are based on the status of
the website during the evaluation period which was performed over several days,
specifically between April 10 and May 3, 2006.

TigerDirect.com is an online established store that sells a variety of electronics, mostly
computers and computer parts, but not limited to those. It also contains a big selection of
digital cameras, music devices, plasma TV’s, cell phones and numerous other electronics.
TigerDirect.com claims to have “over 50,000 items in stock” and to offer “the best computer
and electronics deals anywhere” (www.TigerDirect.com).
