HP Mobile Device Management Distributed Approach
HP’s approach to mobility separates the management and security components from the messaging and application components of the solution. This means that HP MDM service does not pass sensitive company information through its system. Its purpose is to provide manageability and security for mobile devices regardless of whether devices are used to access messaging or line-of-business applications. With HP MDM, IT can secure and manage devices while independently authenticating for access to any particular enterprise application. This distributed approach ensures that the foundation of management and security can be provided independent of the devices and applications access by those devices. This also serves to eliminate a single point of failure by handling the management and security traffic separate from the content traffic.
Secure Web Access of MDM
In the hosted environment, HP EMS is securely deployed within the hosted infrastructure behind a firewall. Access to the server is provided through a reverse proxy which resides in the DMZ between the hosted HP EMS server and the internet protecting EMS from direct internet access. In addition, all access to HP EMS requires authentication of users through username and password credentials.
