When you switch on your device for the first time, Welcome is displayed. Select from the following: Settings wizard—to configure various settings, such as e-mail Switch—to transfer content, such as contacts and calendar entries, from a compatible Nokia device. See ‘Transfer content from another device’, p. 13. Demo—to view a demonstration about your device To access Welcome later, press , and select Tools > Utilities > Welcome. You can also access the individual applications from their menu locations. To change the general settings in your device, such as language, standby mode, and display settings, see ‘Phone’, p. 122.

Transfer content from another device With the Switch application, you can transfer content, such as contacts and calendar entries, between two compatible Nokia devices using Bluetooth connectivity. When using the application for the first time, you can transfer content from a compatible Nokia device to your Nokia N81. The type of content that can be transferred depends on the model of the device from which you want to transfer content. Your device notifies you if the other device is not compatible. To retrieve data from your other device for the first time, on your Nokia N81, select Phone switch in the Welcome application, or press , and select Tools > Utilities > Switch. Follow the instructions on the display. Settings Your device normally has MMS, GPRS, streaming, and mobile internet settings automatically configured in the device, based upon your network service provider information. You may have settings from your service providers already installed in your device, or you may receive or request the settings from the network service providers as a special message.

With Mail for Exchange, you can wirelessly access your email, calendar, and contacts from your Microsoft Exchange account on your Nokia E62. You can synchronize your data manually or schedule the synchronization automatically so your data is always up-to-date on your device and on your computer. This guide explains how to: • Install and open Mail for Exchange on your Nokia E62. • Create a synchronization profile that controls what and when you synchronize. • Synchronize your device to get your email, calendar, and contact entries from your Microsoft Exchange 2003 server. Note: Mail for Exchange works with Microsoft Exchange 2003 servers with Service Pack 2 (SP2) only.

The use of Mail for Exchange requires a PDA Connect for Microsoft Direct Push data plan or another eligible PDA Connect plan. Contact Cingular at 1-866-CINGULAR (1-866-246-4852) for more information. Before you begin You will need to do the following to complete the set up of your Mail for Exchange account: 1. Complete the initial Nokia E62 device set up using the Getting Started Guide. 2. You can create these copies on your memory card or on a compatible PC that has the PC Suite application installed. Before you begin creating backup files, do the following: • Close all other applications. • Make sure you have enough battery power.
