Puma Hardware Manual
This document explains how to install the Puma Reader. You will understand how to program various parameters of the Puma Reader. Also this documentation explains the core components used in the device and how to “Quick Service” the Reader, if required.
Setting up the Reader:
Connect the 6 PIN RJ-11 attached to the Power Adapter to the Puma Reader.
Connect the 9 PIN Female connector to the PC Serial Port for connecting the Puma Reader with RS232 Communication protocol.
Connect Ethernet (TCP/IP) cable to the Puma Reader. Ensure the other end of Ethernet cable is connected to the Hub / Switch.
Plug in the Power Adapter to AC input€
Now the system is powered and LED Display is active & you hear beep sound.
Assigning IN/OUT Function in Puma Reader:
Assigning Always IN – For Puma Reader
Select Reader Type as “IN” while configuring the Reader in PC Interface Software
Assigning Always OUT – For Puma Reader
Select Reader Type as “OUT” while configuring the Reader in PC Interface Software
Assigning No IN/OUT for Puma Reader
Select Reader Type as “BOTH” while configuring the Reader in PC Interface Software
Assigning User Selectable Type for Puma Reader – is same as Always IN
Select Reader Type as “USER” while configuring the Reader in PC Interface Software. When this option is selected, it is always marked as “IN”
