HP ProLiant Blade Utilities for Solaris 10 x64/x86 User Guide
This document describes the installation, configuration, functionality, and maintenance of the HP ProLiant Blade Utilities package (HPQblade) for selected HP ProLiant systems running Sun Solaris 10 x64/x86 operating system in 64-bit kernel mode.
Package Format
The HPQblade package is distributed in a compressed tar file and can be extracted using the gunzip(1) and tar(1) utilities on a system running Solaris 10 x64/x86.

• HP Blade Rack Update Utility for Solaris 10 x64/x86 (hpqblru(1M)).
• HP Rack Infrastructure Information Service for Solaris 10 x64/x86 (hpqriisd(1M)).
• Supporting documentation (release notes, man pages).
Functionality
The HP ProLiant Blade Utilities package is a small collection of drivers and tools that enable the monitoring of blade rack-related events and the upgrade of blade enclosure management module firmware.
The rack infrastructure information service (hpqriisd(1M)) logs blade rack-related events such as the insertion and removal of blades, incorrect configurations, etc. The blade rack update utility (hpqblru(1M)) is used to upgrade the management module firmware of the various enclosures in the rack.
