Avocent DSView 3 Connector for HP Software Technical Bulletin
The Avocent DSView 3 Connector for HP Software extends the capabilities of HP Software Network Node Manager (NNM) and Operations for Windows (OVOW) to add out of band connectivity and control ensuring that IT assets can be managed remotely regardless of their operational state. By providing secure remote access to assets that are off-line, the DSView 3 Connector provides the critical access to systems required to meet demanding Service Level Agreements (SLA) and ensure operational efficiency.
Installation System requirements
The DSView 3 Connector for HP Software is supported on the following systems:
• Windows® 2000 Server Edition Service Pack 4 with HP NNM version 7.5
• Windows 2003 Server Edition Service Pack 1 with HP NNM version 7.5
• Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 with HP NNM version 7.5
• Red Hat® Advanced Server 2.1 Update 1 with HP NNM
• Windows 2000 Server Edition Service Pack 4 with HP OVOW version 7.5
• Windows 2003 Server Edition Service Pack 1 with HP OVOW version 7.5
NOTE: The DSView 3 Connector for HP Software does not support the Network Node Manager Home Base web interface.
To install the Avocent DSView 3 Connector for HP Software:
1. Once you have purchased the Avocent DSView 3 Connector for HP Software, download the installation file to your HP Software server.
2. Double-click the file to start installation. Follow the on-screen instructions.
NOTE: The DSView 3 Connector will be installed in the C:\Program Files\Avocent directory on Windows platforms or in the /usr/local/avocent directory on Linux platforms.
3. In the Get Avocent DSView Server Info window, enter the DSView 3 server information.
