iConnector User’s Manual

This User’s Manual is intended to familiarize you with Connect One’s iConnector ™ adapter for wireless Internet connectivity. iConnector iC101 is a small adapter that enables installed devices to use the Internet for messaging via wireless modems and data- enabled phones that operate over AMPS, CDMA, CDPD, GPRS, GSM, iDEN, and TDMA wireless networks. iConnector provides “Instant Internet™” connectivity by eliminating the need for any hardware modification to a host device when connecting it to an Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Although iConnector can also be used to Internet-enable a device via an external analog dial-up modem, its primary purpose is for use with wireless modems. For the purpose of simplicity, in this User’s Manual the phrase “dial-up modem” can be substituted for “wireless modem”.

iConnector is available in two models: iC101-MM, which comes with two male connectors (to connect a DCE-type device to a wireless modem instead of a PC) and iC101-FM, which comes with one male/one female connector (to connect a DTE-type device to a wireless modem). Models are available for commercial temperature range (0° to 70° C, or 32° to 158° F) and for industrial temperature range (-40° to 85°C, or -40° to 185° F).

When used with a wireless modem/handset, iConnector enables sending and receiving an email message with or without attachments; downloading an HTML page or file from a Web server; Web site hosting for standard Web browsers and WAP-enabled cellular handsets; FTP Client; Telnet Client; and SerialNET mode, as well as managing socket level communication over the Internet. With iConnector, this is achieved from any device, machine, or system without need to be attached to a PC.
